IPURO - SCENTED SPACES

For IPURO, I developed and created a spatial installation that translated five different fragrances into five individual visual and sculptural worlds. The idea was to make scent not only something to experience through smell, but something that could be seen and felt through material, colour, form and space.

The installations unfolded throughout different areas of the house - almost like moving through a home, with each room revealing its own atmosphere and fragrance.

A dark, leathery scent was transformed into a sculptural desert landscape made from dried flowers and handcrafted leather blooms. Arranged on a plinth, the fragrance itself became part of the object.

In the bathroom, a soft floral and rose-inspired scent took over the bathtub. Flowers appeared to emerge directly from the water, translating the fragrance into an almost surreal floral landscape.

On the terrace, another sculptural installation evolved in deep shades of violet, aubergine and black. Beginning with a sparse, almost barren landscape at floor level, flowers grew upwards across the plinth - creating a transition from darkness to growth and bloom.

For the soft Cotton and Cashmere fragrance, I created a textile sculpture from cushions, blankets and fabrics. Bound together into one large object, the installation translated warmth, softness and a sense of cocooning into physical form.

The fresh Lemon fragrance became part of the dinner table. Lemons and geometric elements were arranged into sculptural pyramids and objects, integrating the scent into the table setting and creating a fresh, summery atmosphere.

Together, the individual installations formed a journey through scent and space. Rather than simply displaying the fragrances, each one became its own environment — a spatial encounter between scent, interior, material and art.

Together, the five installations formed a sequence of distinct sensory environments. Scent became something to encounter through space, material and form as well as through smell.

In the bathroom, a rose-inspired fragrance transformed the bathtub into a soft floral setting. Flowers seemed to rise from the water, creating a surreal interpretation of the scent.
